Chappell and Co were a music publishers in London. However, just before WWI, they ventured into the record business. The label bearing the company's name used masters from the Sound Recording Company and was very short-lived. The later issues (circa No. 16 onwards) use a different matrix series and also state "speed 75" on the label. There were two series. The 10" ones cost 2/6 and the catalogue ran from 1 to 19. The 12" "Chappell De Luxe" cot 5/- and there were just 2 records, numbered A1 and A2..
