Gamage

Home page  Introduction  Label Index  Musicians
Gamage was produced by The British Homophone Company for A. W. Gamage Ltd, of Holborn, London. They are very rare nowadays and little is known about what may be found on this label, or for how long it was available. They use the same source of masters as Homochord, i.e. English Vocalion, American Vocalion, Pathe and possibly Emerson, too, along with Homochord masters of course.
The catalogue numbers are in a G-500 series and they don't quite seem to reach G-700.

There was a much earlier Gamage label, actually labelled "A W Gamage" which dates from the time or World War One. These are even rarer and only a couple of examples have been reported so far.

Finally (I think) there was a Gamage Morse record, of which I only have the scan and have no idea as to the period of the record.

This is a first attempt at a listing. Please e-mail me if you can help me fill in the gaps in any of these series.

Extra information provided by: Maurice Holmes, Greg Butler, Wayne Baby, Norman Field

The first list is all that is known from the first A W Gamage label.
