Introduction to the Onions family
It seems that the Onions family, who were forge workers in Wednesbury during the 19th and early 20th century, may have moved there from Shropshire in the late 18th or early 19th century. There was a big iron working industry in Shropshire at that time (note Ironbridge).
The link to my own family is fairly tenuous, as it was one of my grandmother's cousins, Sydney Lavender, who married into the family, though no children were forthcoming from the marriage.
The following families are linked to the Onions' and have at least a small tree to view.
| Name of Family | Link to Adams family | Background |
| Lavender | Mildred Onions married Sydney Lavender in 1891 | Forge workers from Shropshire |
| Burns | Sarah Burns married Thomas Onions in 1890 |
