Kidditunes

Home Page  Records British Dance Bands Sound Files Contact Me
A children's record dating from the early 1960s. Kidditunes were 6" in diameter and made from vinyl. They were made in England for Marx Toys and sold by Lumar Ltd of Swansea. As you can see from the image, the label often gave no performers' names nor does it give any clues to the source of the recordings.

The packet asserts that they can be played with any needle on any gramophone. Marx did produce a toy wind-up gramophone which used steel needles, but I would imagine these would make short work of a vinyl record !
