A very scarce label dating from early in World War I, manufactured in England for Export to New Zealand. The records were sold for 3/6.
The source for the recordings seems to be Beka-Lindström, so they were quite likely made at Lindström's factory in Hertford, England.

From research undertaken by Adam Miller, Lyricphone records were sold in New Zealand by Charles Begg & Co. a prominent music store around the time of WWI.
The records may have been available from late 1914, but probably only briefly. In fact, the first batch seem to be all patroitic material. The main business seems to have been gramophones, for which Begg & Co manufactured the cabinets.
Adam has supplied me with two adverts for the records, one of which states that there are 250 (presumably different) records, which implies there are many many more to find details of ! However, I would take such statements with a large pinch of salt.

Thanks to Adam Miller for the label scan.

This is a listing in progess, as usual. Please e-mail me if you can help me with this one.
